Lack of updates again:

Things are starting to slow down for me in the feedback department. I know I haven't been around to post much in the past week or so, but I've been really busy with some important things that have cropped up lately. Blizzcon is fast approaching, and I have a few things to take care of before I go.

If all goes well, I may be moving to California soon. =]

It's understandable. Things with the WotLK beta seem to be slowing down in some ways, and speeding up in others. The "OMG this game will be on shelves in a month" factor is probably kicking the devs in the ass right now.
As some one who's been following your Deathknight reviews since you started posting, as well as someone who was fortunate to be a part of the beta test, I'd like to thank you for your time and commitment. Being able to come here and see such comprehensive and thoughtful reviews of mechanics and execution has not only really rounded my opinion of beta testing, but also enriched my own beta experiences with WotLK.
In addition, as a fellow Blizzcon attendee and California resident (LA even), good luck with your move to CA, if it happens. I enjoy living here (CA, not LA specifically, i've always preferred SF).

Jayde. something bad is happening and imo you should intervene a bit here on beta forums. Because they nerfed Black Ice, its pointless to spec 11 in frost now for Lichborne for both deep blood or unholy.

the problem is that devs wanted to nerf unholy dps while boosting frost, but basically the 11 frost Lichborne received collateral dmg from this bad move. basically now you are forced to spend min 5 points into nothing good, which is clearly poor design, all other classes dont have this issue.

a solution would be to put lichborne in T2 frost, this way blood and unholy could spec into it without real problems, or to simply make it core trainable and make current talent being "imp Lichborne" or smth.

I really think you should dig a bit into this problem, it may have deep impact on many things on the long term.

Hey Jayde I noticed that you uploaded a frost pve grinding video on filefront--could you tell us how recent this video is, and what your goal was? It seems like you tear through the mobs pretty quickly, and got some high numbers, but it looked like they were all green.

Good luck with the thing in Cali!

Gz on the 'california move'. Hope all works out for you (if its indeed blizzard-related).

As echoed by other posters, I'm also curious to read your thoughts on the latest DK changes. Personal views:

-Black Ice change: most 'silly' change to happen to DKs in this beta. No, I'm not joking; this is worse than even the up to 70% dmg nerf we got to some of our abilities a few weeks back. While this, as a change, is arguably good for frost DKs, it has, for the first time in DK testing, singlehandedly managed to 'pigeon-hole' DK speccing AND playstyle. IMO, there's NO point in going into the frost tree for deep blood AND unholy specs now, which largely excludes the use of Lichborne and non-disease consuming Oblit for those specs...
They wanted to change Black Ice fine, but at least keep SOME sort of +shadow dmg bonus in there....

-Wandering Plague change: again, utterly stupid. Yes, getting double bonuses from modifiers had to be fixed, yes, scaling exponentially based on the number of mobs had to fixed, but DAMN: a 3-point RN-bloody-G based talent 40 points down a tree ticking for some damage on ONE extra mob? If thats not a bug of a build, its rather silly (even from a point-investment view). At least change its coding based on talent points invested to make it more fun?
Keep the 'based on critical strike chance' thing, but make the extra damage a guaranteed hit on a percentage that is lower than 100%?
Like:
1 point in wandering plague: diseased mob gets xxx% more dmg from DK diseases; diseases tick for xx% on 1 additional mob (procs based on crit strike chance of DK ofc)
2 points in wandeging plague: diseased mob get xxx% more dmg from DK diseases; diseases tick for xx% on 2 additional mobs etc

-Crypt fever change was also a bit harsh imo. Could have easily been scaled back down to 45% instead of 30% (15/30/45% talent points)

-Bloody vengeance physical dmg-only thing is also not nice. Could it at least affect shadow damage as well? The Blood tree is starting to look like a warrior tree (main is a warr), which is disheartening to say the least...

-Dancing rune weapon: cant say that I agree with the 3 minute cooldown based on spreadsheet-testing theories in Blizz. That said and done, its their game and I can only disagree; not design it. What I CAN suggest is to actually REMOVE the 'melee weapon' requirement from it (to keep it more in line with the other DK 'spell-based' 51-pointers)?

Keep up the good work and best of luck,
An EU beta tester =]

Jayde, with the release coming up and the talents being 'finalized', would it be possible to make a post about PVE specs and their DPS rotation?

I'm sure the theory crafters have done their homework already, so would we nice if you had a 'guide' or something.

Cheers.

Nothing is finalized yet. I'll be sure and give a good overview prior to launch, though, for sure. :)

Thanks in advance, much appreciated! A lot of us will have to catch up to the level 70 -> 80 mains, so i want to be prepared as much as i can.

Grats Jayde, No more Olathe? But the midwest is such a vibrant and exciting hellhole.

Maybe you can help clear up some of the much in the warlock class. It would be nice to no longer be composed of halfworked ideas.

Also, maso if you're browsing here I just got hit with a 1 week suspension for mentioning the "Cannot do that while stunned" stats as a reply to one of GC's posts.
