Waste of Beta Keys.

Nothing drives me crazier than shit like this.
Seriously, who the hell lets assholes like this in, when we could get someone useful instead? :/

It's probably a good thing that I don't have the powers to, uhm, uninvite people.

People like that make me ill. I've been sitting here patiently hoping for a key to test out the DKs and see how they are to level with and play with. Makes me sad.

Hopefully he got in from the Beta key from blizzcon, and not from Opting in and getting selected.

Luckily there are some solid testers, and then there are people like this guy...

I agree with you here Jayde. Some of us would like to have the opportunity participate in the beta tests, instead it gets wasted. I among many have been looking forward to the Death Knight playstle for a long time.

Anyway, great job keeping us other gamers informed of the DK! I browse your blog to see whats new.

Ugh!

I sure hope that for the opt in they at least consider bringing back people from previous betas that actually gave feedback. I was lucky enough to win a fan site context and was in closed beta of original wow. Then a friend of mine got selected randomly for TBC and gave me her account. I've opted in and really hope I have a chance to go through testing and providing feedback for wotlk.

If not me, then at least get more people with actual brains in their heads who are going to contribute something worthwhile to the design process.

Well, when you move from a closed alpha to a semi-open beta these things happen. Yeah, the point of a beta is to test. But once it goes live there'll be a ton of people like this guy playing so Blizz needs to let at least a few idiots in early so they can see how they do.

That said it almost seems like there should be a test or something you take before you actually access the beta. If for no other reason that to give Blizz an idea of how much weight to put behind someone's feedback.

I guess I'll have to buy a Blizzcon ticket to get in the beta ... looks like the easiest way.
Jade I would like to thank you for all the info you've been sharing with us, unlucky people and I'd like to ask:
Is there any way to dispell Hungering Cold? I ask this because it's a 51 pt spell and if I remember correctly those mage's and warlock's talented pets turned out not to be immune to banish in the ptr.
Could you do some testing with the pvp trinket? And does it last it's full duration in pvp (with a full rp bar) or is it just 10 secs like any other snare/poly?

I agree with you jayde..knowing that people like that got into beta makes me sad. I'm hoping to experience level 55-77 and it wouldnt bother me the least. Its for testing../sigh

The thing that doesn't make me so happy about that whole ordeal is that people like that don't send in test information. I mean as you said in your PM you are there to test stuff...And it doesn't seem someone in a position that has no clue what is going on has any idea what to test for. As a couple of other people said some of us have been waiting for beta keys to do exactly that, test the game content. And just to reply to someone who said hopefully he got his key from Blizzcon...Would someone who has no idea what is going on in the game (i.e. deathknights starting at 55) I don't see as being such a huge fan of the game to pay 100+ dollars to go to Blizzcon...Anyways I feel your pain. I have been in a lot of beta tests with very similar people and it really does seem a little irritating that these people would get beta keys...Its the only problem I see with them selecting people at random...Maybe they should restrict the random keys to people who have been playing for longer than 2 weeks (or whatever arbitrary amount of time someone happens to decide on)?

Here is something offtopic, but I had an idea for some extra DK agro in the form of Runeforging. I don't know how many of you played EverQuest back in the day, but they always gave end-game tank weapons a threat proc called Enraging Blow, all it did was increase threat on the target.

I think it'd be a good idea to have one of those type procs from Runeforging. Something unique just to DK's anyway. Obviously they'd need to have different versions for 1hd and 2hd but still, just a thought.

That is really unfortunate. I guess there isn't really much that can be done about it, a large number of people want in beta just get a chance to play the new stuff first, rather than test it =\

Some people feel that only max level content matters, and don't care at all about the level up content. Clearly this guy was one of them and all he wanted to test was high end content, or at least the NEW level up content.

Give me a beta key, access to the US Beta, and ill make you proud ;)

But i completely agree with the sentiment, people like that irritate me enough to suggest selective breeding should be enforced :(

Right, there are a few things I absolutely HATE about Blizzard:

1. The decision of who can test new patches (PTR's) and expansions (alpha's / beta's).
For PTR's, this is everyone, which is bad, as you get 80% retards who give fuck all about testing.
For beta testing, they're sending out invites ENTIRELY random, how UNBELIEVABLY stupid is THAT? You get retards like the guy in your screeny in, but people who actually have some knowledge about the game (over 3 years experience, been in both original and TBC beta's, always provided feedback, etc) usually don't get an invite (I myself am part of this group). Ofcourse, people like you (Jayde) are an exception to this rule, for which I am grateful.

2.They don't give a rat's ass about EU forums. Sure, the CMs over here tell us they do, but have never actually proven it. The solution? It's incredibly simple, let the developers themselves actually respond, and not give us some stupid excuse that they do watch topics.
Oh and then there's the excuse of Europe having multiple languages. Who the hell cares about anything but English? Give feedback on the English-EU forums, don't make us pay for the few who can't speak it. Note: I have nothing against other nationalities, and am Dutch (=Netherlands) myself.

Anyway, rant over. Like I said before, thanks for the feedback you're providing on the forums Jayde, and this ofcourse goes for the other active forum posters too, but I've no way to contact em.

Don't care about the EU forums?Haha you are not alone. Both servers I play on in the US were crippled by the same spammer for over a month. The server forums were rendered useless and every single post of this idiot was reported. People even wrote in e-mails. I'm of the opinion that Blizzard forum mods are not very well paid...or even real.

As for the topic, yeah that's a bummer. I've been in the WAR beta for sometime and the level of maturity I generally find has really set the bar high. In months I have had no run ins with total idiots. WoW suffers from a rather high percentage of jackasses but you take any dissect of 10 million people and that's bound to be a common theme.

Truly sad that guy....so impatient, i want to take his key away, he does not want to test, he wants to just get a free ride....

I do have a question for you Jayde if you dont mind

Does scent of blood steal the health that heals you, or JUST heal you?

Ex: You deal it steals 200 HP, damaging for 200 and healing you for 200

Or just healing you for 200?

That blows, but that's the downfall of making beta invites random or giving them to people who show up at invitationals and conventions. You're bound to get a few asshats and retards mixed in now and then. Regardless, keep up the good work and thanks for the info.

Wow. Individuals like that guy just make me want to go out and kick some puppies. Well not really. Actually it makes me wish I could reach out to them through my monitor and shank the undeserving git in the skull.

This is one individual who isn't deserving of the privilege that he has been given. There are millions (myself included) who would love to have the opportunity he has been given.

Still, thank you for posting your experience with testing the deathknight. Because of folks like you, posting their experience and feedback, I get to do so vicariously!

Fortunately the people in the Beta with that mentality are rare. But those encountered can truely ruin a good experience.
